Whole Body Cryotherapy uses extreme cold to promote natural healing and wellness. Clients enter our nitrogen gas-cooled cryosauna for up to three minutes, where they experience temperatures as low as nearly 200 degrees below zero. After the cryo session, clients experience benefits including pain relief, reduced inflammation, improved recovery from exercise, rejuvenated skin, invigorated energy levels, boosted metabolism, elevated mood and improved sleep.
As the surface temperature of your skin drops quickly during your cryo session, it triggers a systemic reaction. Blood rushes to your core & circulates through your vital organs, where it is hyper-enriched with oxygen and nutrients. When you step out of the cryosauna, the revitalized blood supply rushes back to your extremities. This floods your system with the re-oxygenated and re-nourished blood, flushing away toxins and triggering repair and rejuvenation. Your body releases endorphins, boosting energy and metabolism, and decreasing sensitivity to pain. Over the next several hours, the inflammatory properties in your system continue to change, further reducing pain and inflammation.
Developed in Japan in the late 1970s as a treatment for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, it was discovered that Whole Body Cryotherapy could provide relief from other sources of inflammation, and promote healing after injury or strenuous physical activity.
Whole Body Cryotherapy became popular with athletes across Europe, and became a staple in training centers for professional sports teams and Olympic athletes. As it's effectiveness for overall wellness and as a beauty treatment was discovered, it grew popular in exclusive spas and resorts across Europe over the past 30 years. In addition to pain relief and sports recovery, cryo users report improvement in skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema and acne, enhanced mood and energy levels, boosted metabolism and better sleep.
Over the past several years, cryotherapy made its way to the U.S., initially used by elite athletes to reduce recovery time and boost performance. Now, as Whole Body Cryotherapy expands to all areas of the country, everyone has the opportunity to experience the many benefits. North Coast Cryotherapy wants to share the proven power of cold with YOU!
